Cantonese FAQs

I'm gonna learn Cantonese (Just enough to talk with my Canto friends, not for buisness or anything). I wanna find something that I could put on my R4 and use with my DS since I have it with me often. I tried 'My chinese coach" but that is Mando and I need to know Canto.

So any suggestions?

((Don't bother suggesting CD's, I don't have a CD player, I'm not paying for CD's or a CD player either >.>))

ive been learning to read, write and speak putonghua (mandarin) now for while, but im starting to learn that here in the western world that Cantonese is more common. i still want to Mandarin since it has always been a goal of mine but since Cantonese is MOSTLY a spoken language should i try to learn verbal Cantonese along side with my normal Mandarin studies?

i know how to speak Cantonese but i can always work on it. I read very poorly. are there any sites that i an learn Cantonese?

I'm learning Cantonese and thought it'd be good to listen to some music in Cantonese. I've been listening to Joey Yung at the moment but not sure who else to try since I can't find much on iTunes.

I've just started learning Cantonese although I'm interested in Mandarin and Japanese and I've got a very basic grasp of all three but I'd like to start developing my Cantonese skills further. Where do you suggest I start? I mean, how should I go about learning the vocabulary for example? I'm only 15 and busy at school so learning out of school isn't an option so the only resources I have are books and the internet. I've spent a long time researching and getting old of what appear to be very useful books but I'm just not sure where to start with all of it? Should I perhaps have some sort of vocab book I can write in? Writing charts for some of the characters? How about learning the grammar? Where would I start with that? Perhaps the present tense but not really sure how to learn it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated :)
